Open House 2015

My kids have both had fabulous years with their teachers!  They have learned a lot.  Xanders class focused on Ecuador and Eliza's on Costa Rica (each year the Spanish classes learn about a Spanish country as part of their Spanish curriculum).  It was fun to see all the things they have been working on, visit with their teachers and meet some more of their friends.  I LOVE watching my kids grown!

Math Bowl 2015

despite Xander's efforts, he didn't make the Math bowl this year for his class.  BUT Eliza did!  Her motto was, take your time while everyone else gets the problem incorrect and then solve correctly.  She did great and we are so proud of both of their efforts to do well!

'F' is for Fire Fighter

I had a ton of fun with the "F" week activities!  My little firefighters put out fires all over my yard and watered my trees at the same time.

Later that day, Xander got his bear!  So proud of him.  He has worked hard!

Happy #60 Grumpy!

My folks are hitting 60 this year!  My Mom planned a surprise party for my Dad...complete with a visit from his Mom.  It was great fun!  Happy Birthday Dad!

New toys

Everyone was very excited to have an oven again!

And I'm not sure what I'm more excited about...but my new fridge is SO BIG!

Sargant at Arms

Xander was so excited to run for Student Council. He chose to run for Sargent at Arms.  He had Aunt Emily help him with his poster, he wrote a speech and presented it to every 4th and 5th grader.  Election day came and went and Xander handled it really well when he wasn't elected.  Ben & I both shared our student council defeats with him and told him better luck next year!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

For Grandma's birthday this year we had a family picnic at the temple.  We went for a walk, ate, sang happy birthday and had a great time remembering our awesome angel Grandma!

Preschoolers

I picked Abby up from preschool and her teacher had dressed her up!  SO beautiful!

And then while Violet was at school, we shopped at Costco and little Miss Independent wanted to pick up her smoothie herself
And then this little independent one was upset that we arrived to pick her up in the car.  So she walked all the way home while we trailed her as she pouted the whole time

While we were away...

We came home to see that all the honey oak was goine from our home!  YIPPEE!

Easter and Conference Weekend

Our last days in Utah were jam packed with fun!  We celebrated Easter and watched Conference.  The whole reason we were went to conference was to take Xander to the LDS General Conference which happens twice a year.  We made it to the Saturday afternoon session.  On Sunday it was super exciting because our Aunt Peg was singing her debut with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir!  Pretty amazing!
 Cooking Easter dinner

Egg Hunts!  We had a cold snap and the grass was frozen

Museum of Natural History

We helped our cousins play hookie again and enjoyed a few hours in the Natural History museum.  I have always wanted to go and was super impressed with all that the museum offered.  What an amazing place!  LOTS of easy to understand information, LOTS of hands on activities, LOTS of fun to be had!  So glad we made it!

BYU day

First stop at BYU was the Bean Museum. WOW! This museum has been completely re-done and is so super cool!  The kids had a blast and got to hang out with my cousin Sydney who I hadn't seen in about 8 years!
Then we walked around the bookstore and then met with Grandma Bonnie for lunch at the creamery!  Just as yummy as we remembered it!

We got to see Grandma's new house!
For dinner that night we had our annual Easter passover feast.  We eat unleavened bread and other simple foods that those living in Jesus' time would have eaten.
