Ducks & Pancakes

We moved into our new ward just in time to go to the ward campout. We forgot to take any pictures while we were there--we were having too much fun. But since I helped with the breakfast clean up I was able to score all the extra pancakes and we got to go to the duck pond and feed the ducks. The kids had a blast--any time pancakes are mentioned, Eliza says we need to take some to the ducks and if ducks are mentioned, she informs us that we need to make pancakes. I tried to get some video--it's sideways, sorry--but it shows how crazy happy the ducks were!

Mommy's Projects

26 lbs each: Apricots and PeachesAfter 7 hours in the kitchen and 2 trips to the store, my friend, Angela, had helped me successfully make 32 pint size jars (approx 2 gallons) of jam, can 6 jars of peaches and 3 of apricot. WOW! It is so worth it though and I can't wait to do some more!
I know, we've been here for 6 weeks and no. We are not unpacked. Partly because we are reorganizing boxes that we are going to leave boxed up. This project consisted of taking about 20 boxes with books in them and sorting through and categorizing them and looking for the ones we want to keep out for the next year. We have a lot of good books and I'm excited to start reading again! I just finished a great one: French Women Don't Get Fat. Loved it! Now to start implementing it!

And the projects don't stop there. But at least you know why I'm slacking in other departments--like keeping in touch with the outside world. :) I still love you all! Here's a shot for fun--yes we did all that jamming with 4 kids under the age of 4! GO US! Thanks Angela!

Oaks Park

Intel HR had a family day at Oaks Park--which is a permanent carnival in Portland. The kids had a great time going on rides 5, 6, and 7 times. Ben and I each went on one ride as well and we had fun meeting Ben's new co-workers and seeing a new side of Portland. We also learned that our kids are definite thrill seekers.

Intel Kids at Work Day

The kids will definitely enjoy this day more when they are older but as daddy's job is a new phenomenon we took advantage of the kid friendly day. The kids couldn't have had more fun -- they had lots of games and activities set up and the kids got to see dad's desk. We had planned on eating in the cafeteria but opted for lunch at Costco instead. It was a great day!

Peach Pickin'

80 cents per pound of peaches? Fresh from the tree? YUMMY!!! We had a lot of fun going peach picking with our friends: Haley, McKenzie, Lucy & Samantha. The kids thought it was so much fun. The best part though was definitely getting to eat the peaches. We've learned a lot about peaches this year: we've tasted Zee Ladies, Elbertas, Sierra Gold, Reginas and one other that I can't remember. I've been amazed at how different each one is and have to admit--I'm partial to Reginas. WOW they were so different and good. I hope we'll get to go at least one more time during peach season!
