Abigail Update
WOW, you would think that Abigail was born before digital cameras. You know, back when you limited your picture taking because you had to pay for every picture you took just to see if it MIGHT have turned out? :) Yeah, I'm seriously lacking in pictures for her. Maybe it's because every time a camera comes out, there are 6 other hands that want to take it from me or because our little babe rarely is able to do anything other than be in our arms, her bed or the swing. But here are a couple of updates & tidbits:
1. at 2 weeks she was 8 lbs 9 oz-a full lb larger! whoo-whoo!
2. She is our sleepiest newborn. I remember thinking with my others--aren't you suppose to sleep more? With Abigail, it is a challenge to keep her awake. I mean she wakes up enough to eat and poop and then goes right back to sleep--she even sleeps through her diaper being changed! CRAZY! Although it is nice at night.
3. She is our happiest baby-at 4 weeks she RARELY cries. A couple times in the car because we left somewhere right when she wanted to be fed but really, she hardly ever cries.
4. Every one absolutely loves her. She's already had her first bruise from a little too much love.
About the challenges: (for my own documentation only)
In talking to a friend with twins-it sounds similar. Except I only have one baby who wakes up at night--not two. :) The hardest part is nursing--Vi isn't quite to where she'll sit and read with me for a long stretch. She'll read for one side if we are lucky. :) It is also quite the adventure picking Eliza up from Preschool--it'd be true for Xander but Grandma Bonnie has graciously offered to take and pick him up daily--but both places I have to get both girls out of the car because you have to pick up at the door. And Eliza's class is inside a large building so I can't just leave them in the car. :( I'm running pretty slow these days--I do not get much rest time. If Abby is resting, I use that time to make sure Vi, Eliza or Xander get some attention. But I have a priority list and no expectations--so the important things get done and not much else. If I show up to things, it's been a good day. My house, although it is clean (I actually mopped the other day!), is completely disorganized & scattered. I'd cry if I had the energy to do so because I would just a LOVE a neat and tidy house right now. I told Ben--that's ALL I want to do for my birthday-have a few hours to just finish putting things away from the move, finish organizing each room and cleaning it all. Anyways, every day is an adventure and I learn something new about my limits and my kids. I was thinking the other day how a lot of our friends who have kids Xander & Eliza's age are just having their 3rd and I was getting frustrated as to why I have had 2. BUT then I slapped myself back to reality because I know our lives wouldn't be right without Violet & Abigail in them RIGHT NOW. I mean, it's still crazy and I still do not totally understand this challenge from the Lord but I know that He helps me every day and that this is the right thing for our family.
Make it a great day!

Daddy Daughter Date
Ben picked Eliza up from her first day of preschool so they could have a date. Lunch at Carl's Jr & a trip to the zoo (Aunt Kayley, the zoo membership is PRICELESS!). They had a fabulous time but Eliza complained about having to hold Daddy's hand the whole time...apparently Daddy had told her that people hold hands while they are on a date. hehehe
First day of Preschool!
Someone was just a little excited to start preschool this year! :) Ok, she's been desperate for a couple of years but she is finally old enough! (She seriously sat down and watched the clock for 5 minutes!!) She's in a two day a week program run by the community (I have finally figured out that I have to have some limits---no co-ops for me this year!). After 3 days-she is LOVING it. She has not cried once when we left and looks forward every other day to going. She has 3 teachers and lots of new kids to meet but her favorite part of preschool so far is coloring.

The many faces of Violet
Violet is definitely our most, hhhmmm, expressive child-especially for a 15 month old. She knows what she wants and she will let you know whether you guessed right or wrong. She also makes HILARIOUS faces all the time. I wish I could capture them but well, my hands are not quick enough these days. But I caught a couple these are "the pout" which she now does on command but it usually ends up making us all laugh and the other one is "stinky" which she does whenever I change her or Abby's diaper.
