Utah 2010
What can I say about this trip? Well, we made it! :D The original idea was to send me by myself but then Ben realized that our kids haven't seen their cousins in a year and we wouldn't be traveling this summer because of everything going on so we decided we should all go. I am so glad that we did. As life would have it though we all got sick the week before--nothing serious--just colds, ear infections and sinus infections. We thought we'd be better quickly so we left for Utah sick on Sunday Feb 28th. We got to Boise that night and stayed at Aunt Lynne's. Ben and I weren't doing that well--the kids were doing fantastic but we were pretty pathetic looking and I'm sure Aunt Lynne was a little worried. We got up and going the next morning though and were doing really well when we arrived at the cut-off for Salt Lake City only to find that there was road work and we would have to travel an extra hour to Pocatello, ID to get the other junction for Salt Lake City. OMG?!! We were a little mad. Luckily, Ben's Aunt Linda lives in Pocatello, so we called her and she met us at her house during her lunch break and let us stretch for a long time. We made it to Utah--and Emily's alive!
Despite the fact that Ben and I never really got better--we had a great week full of resting and fun! We did not make it to see many of our friends--sorry guys! Mabye next time! We did get to spend lots of time with my sister and nephews & neice though. One day Eliza got to go with Annabelle and do ballet--WOW--I had no idea she would like it so much. It took her a bit to warm up to things but once she did she LOVED it! She still talks about it! The kids also loved the snow storm that hit...I'm such a wuss with snow though! It's been too long. But Xander loved playing with his cousins and Auntie Em in it. We did go to BYU one day because Xander & Eliza really wanted to and it was fun to be there--although we felt kinda old. And the highlight of our trip was definitely being able to be with the Felix's when Nathan was baptized--what a great experience. We got to see lots of my cousins and my Aunt who I haven't seen in a few years so it was really nice. We just LOVE family!
Anyways, it was a great trip and I am so grateful that my big sister put up with Ben and I! We were pretty patheticly sick! In fact, my nephew Ryan (he's 6) said to Ben one day, "Uncle Ben, you and Aunt Wendy are just too sick. Why don't you just leave the kids here and go home?" If only Ryan, if only! We appreciate the offer though! Hopefully we'll get stable here soon though and be able to start traveling to see our out-of-state family more soon--NY, San Diego, UT & WA--here we come!
Preschool Field Trips
Xander's preschool has had some pretty awesome field trips! We've been to a tree nursery, the fire station and we just had field trips to Costco and Chevy's and the airport. I highly recommend calling your local Chevy's and seeing if they do field trips if you are looking for one--it was awesome! They not only let each child put a dough ball into "El Machino" but they prepared and served us lunch (a bean burrito, fries and an orange + all you can eat chips & salsa!) for no charge! Costco was fun too--we just did a tour of the bakery and then the kids got cupcakes to eat afterward! YUM!

Announcements! Announcements!
Just to confirm any possible rumors that may be circling--YES, we are moving! We are moving April 1. Why? Well, because we thought it would be exciting to up and move the month before the baby is due! Plus, who wants to live anywhere longer than a year, right? Actually...I do. But in all seriousness--we are moving. Ben has been part of the Intel HR rotational program since July and was recently offered a full-time position with Intel's Global Diversity & Inclusion Group that is stationed in--none other than--Folsom, CA! So, instead of finishing with the rotational program (which would have kept us in Oregon through July) we are packing up and moving to Folsom. And yes, this will be our stomping ground for awhile--we are currently searching for homes there to BUY because we are going to lay down roots! So if you know of any 4 bedroom homes with a good size yard and not too far from Intel--LET US KNOW! Pretty exciting news though--our parents are just a little excited and the kids are stoked about moving to be near their cousins and grandparents! Pretty crazy times though as we found out only a week or so ago--giving us 6 weeks to prepare...
